Remember the LiveAid concerts for Africa? Yeah, you know, 1985 or so, “we are the world,” or, “Do they know it’s christmas?” Well, get ready for Global Warming Aid, or GWA! (Or whatever they wind up calling it.) The entertainment industry is apparently over the moon with concern for our welfare and the coming desctruction of the earth.
A series of concerts “bigger than Live Aid” is being planned for July, in a bid to put the subject of climate change before an audience of a global audience of 2bn. ~ft.com
A full fledged propaganda campaign for doomsday. “Capitalism is killing the planet!”
Al Gore will make the big announcement. Apparently they will be calling it SOS. Pretty lame if you ask me.
They are promising a line-up of artists to “dwarf” that of the Live8 and Live Aid concerts, thought to be branded under the name “SOS”.
One person close to the event said yesterday: “The talent involved is just exponentially bigger because the issue itself is bigger.
“Live Aid was about asking people to stump up money, this is about effecting systemic change.
“The aim is not just to drive awareness but to get people to take action.”
These actions are likely to include personal pledges to reduce emissions, for instance by using energy efficient equipment or flying less. ~ft.com
It occurs to me that this is more about bolstering the liberal agenda than it is about saving the planet from global warming. It’s a perfect vehicle to pursuade fans to, “get people to take action,” in order to “effect systematic change.” Sounds very much like the patterned mass popular movement that the left sees as the end all of political action. The proletariat rising up to reorder society in a new and egalitarian earth saving manner.
What are the odds that at these SOS concert(s) there are recruiting booths for every left to far left organization under the sun including ANSWER and the Communist Parties of the world?
