The socialists among us promise everything to everyone in opposition to some unequal distribution of goods and services. The rich have too much they say, and the poor get nothing. Case in point is healthcare. Their solution is for the government to take over the healthcare industry. Everyone should get the same healthcare as the rich, right? Except that some are always more equal than others.
Under Britain’s Universal Healthcare system old people don’t deserve the same treatment that a young person would recieve. Apparently, it’s not cost effective.
Doctors deny older people treatments they would offer younger patients, according to a study.
Researchers writing in the Quality and Safety in Health Care journal said it demonstrated doctors in the NHS were guilty of ageism.
…”What a backward system to suggest that people are prioritised solely on the basis of their age, when a 65-year-old may actually be in better health than a 45-year-old.”
Gordon Lishman, director general of Age Concern, said: “This survey into the attitudes of doctors is further shocking evidence that age discrimination in the NHS is still rife.”  ~news.bbc.co.uk
