Pelosi, peace, and perfidy

Pelosi in Hijab, conforming to Islamic lawNancy Pelosi has decided that she is now, “the decider.” It seems that the 2006 election was not just about who would run the house but who would run the executive branch as well. So far Nancy Pelosi and congressional democrats have decided that George Bush will no longer be commander-in-chief, they will run the war, directing war strategy and tactics, sending orders to generals, cutting off funds, sounding the retreat…

Now Nancy Pelosi has taken up the mantle of Secretary of State and decided that the terrorist state of Syria is to be her first State visit.

Right Truth has a rundown of Nancy’s trip and just some of it’s immediate repurcussions.

Terrorists have already endorsed and applauded Pelosi’s visit.

One terror leader, Khaled Al-Batch, a militant and spokesman for Islamic Jihad, expressed hope Pelosi would continue winning elections, explaining the House speaker’s Damascus visit demonstrated she understands the Middle East. ~wnd.com

Terrorist leaders are expressing profound admiration of Pelosi’s knowledge and her party’s strategies for “peace”:

“Nancy Pelosi understands the area (Middle East) well, more than Bush and Dr. (Condoleeza) Rice,” said Al-Batch, speaking to WND from Gaza. “If the Democrats want to make negotiations with Syria, Hamas, and Hezbollah, this means the Democratic Party understands well what happens in this area and I think Pelosi will succeed. … I hope she wins the next elections.

Islamic Jihad has carried out scores of shootings and rocket attacks, and, together with the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terror group, has taken responsibility for every suicide bombing in Israel the past two years.

Ramadan Shallah, overall chief of Islamic Jihad, lives in Syria, as does Hamas chieftain Khaled Meshaal. Israel has accused the Syrian-based Hamas and Islamic Jihad leadership of ordering militants in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to carry out terror attacks.

Al-Batch expressed hope Pelosi and the Democratic Party will pressure Bush to create dialogue with Syria and Middle East “resistance movements” and prompt an American withdrawal from Iraq.

“Bush and Dr. Rice made so many mistakes in the Middle East. Just look at Palestinian clashes and Iraq. But I think some changes are happening for the Bush administration’s foreign policy because of the hand of Nancy Pelosi. I think the Democratic Party can do things the best. … Pelosi is going down a good road by this policy of dialogue,” he said.

Abu Abdullah, a leader of Hamas’ military wing in the Gaza Strip, said the willingness by some lawmakers to talk with Syria “is proof of the importance of the resistance against the U.S.” ~wnd.com

Maybe I’ve been wrong all these years about Democrats and the left. Maybe they are better at dealing with the war on terror. In fact, in the short time they’ve been in power they may have already ended the war on terror! Yes, it’s true! Hard to believe I know, but perhaps I’ve been wrong– Democrats know just what to do to win the war on terror… deny it’s existence.

The House Armed Services Committee is banishing the global war on terror from the 2008 defense budget.

This is not because the war has been won, lost or even called off, but because the committee’s Democratic leadership doesn’t like the phrase.

A memo for the committee staff, circulated March 27, says the 2008 bill and its accompanying explanatory report that will set defense policy should be specific about military operations and “avoid using colloquialisms.”

The “global war on terror,” a phrase first used by President Bush shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the U.S., should not be used, according to the memo. Also banned is the phrase the “long war,” which military officials began using last year as a way of acknowledging that military operations against terrorist states and organizations would not be wrapped up in a few years. ~militarytimes.com

Unfortunately, the forces of democracy in Syria do not seem to understand the great contribution to peace that Pelosi has wrought here. Apparently they are still under the illusion that Democracy would be good for the region and that liberalization of the muslim world would be a good thing. Perhaps… after the reform Party of Syria has had a chance to oppress the population and kill many thousands through terror attacks and financing, then, and only then, might Mrs. Pelosi deign to visit them and bring her enlightenment (and alignment) to them.

Assad could not have been happier because Syrian women, seeing a US official confirming what their husbands, the Imams in the Mosques tell them, and the society at large imposes on them through peer pressure will see in her wearing a Hijab as a confirmation of the societal pressures they are constantly under. No one will ever know how many women took the Hijab on after seeing Pelosi wearing it. The damage Speaker Pelosi is causing with her visit to Syria will be felt for many years to come. ~reformsyria.org

  1. James Thompson says:

What, no talk about the Republican delegation who met with the Syrian president just days before?

    Please stop with the propaganda.

Check out this photo of Laura Bush in Jerusalem.

  2. 1) the republican delegation is just as guilty.

    2) The first lady putting on a scarf –inside a mosque– is not the same as Pelosi wearing it outside. Especially when her entire campaign as speaker was supposed “breaking the marble ceiling” because the United States is such a sexist country.

Now if Laura Bush were to talk about how she was a woman of power in a sexist society in practically every speech she made and then went to Syria and wore a hijab to visit with an islamist-terrorist dictator, then you might have a valid comparison.
