CARACAS) — President Hugo Chavez announced Monday he would pull Venezuela out of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, a largely symbolic move because the nation has already paid off its debts to the lending institutions.

Even though the IMF and World Bank are more like pale imitations of arch-capitalism rather than the real thing. But as symbols they are square in the sights of the anti-globalism/anti-capitalism crowd.
