The liberal news media
The CNN/YouTube ‘Republican’ debate was highly revealing. Revealing the blatant hypocrisy and bias of CNN in particular and of the entire Liberal MSM in general.
The debate, ostensibly for Republicans to examine their candidates, somehow had a slew of supporters, activists, and staff for the Obama, Hillary, and Edwards campaigns, you know, “undecided voters,” asking Republican candidates questions. This is what liberals call balanced journalism.
Does anyone recall Democrats boycotting a FoxNews debate? Why did they do that? I guess because they believed FoxNews wouldn’t be sympathetic to the concerns of Democratic primary voters? At least on FoxNews you know the political orientation of those who are grilling the candidates. This is the way it should be. Pretending objectivity by refusing to admit you have any bias is itself a lie and a disservice to voters and consumers of news.
The list of Democratic activists parading as republican undecided voters so far:
- Keith Kerr, Hillary Campaign Committee
Clinton Campaign Steering Committee, co-chair of Hillary’s National Military Veterans group. He also was an active John Kerry supporter in 2004 - Ted Faturos, intern for Democrat Jane Harmon, Supports Clinton
“Ted Faturos, 20, a student at University of California, San Diego, asked a question about corn subsidies. It turns out the urban studies and planning major also worked as an intern for Democratic Rep. Jane Harman.” - David Cercone, Obama supporter.
“Again, as an American who is living under the tyranny of a dubiously elected wannabe dictator, please world forgive us and know that Bush and Bolton are not representative of the majority of Americans. God help us all.
David Cercone, Fort Lauderdale, Florida” - LeeAnn Anderson, Union Activist, Edwards Supporter
“prominent Pittsburgh union activist–and aide to Leo Gerard, President of the American Steel Workers Union/John Edwards supporter.” - Adam Florzak, worked with Dick Durbin.
- Mark Strauss, Richardson supporter
Wha makes this so egregious is that the Democratic debates (video at link) were packed with “planted” questions by liberal democrat supporters, campaign workers, and activists, and now we see that the Republican debate (video at link) was also packed with “planted” questions by liberal democrat supporters, campaign workers, and activists.
Shameful. But perhaps not so surprising from the liberal news media.

Thanks to the internet though the people are seeing through this more and more. Those who called Fox Faux News scream bias themselves. As you said at least on Fox you know who is right and who is left. There aren’t the games played by those at CNN or NBC or especially at MSNBC. These people long for the days where someone like Dan Rather could get away with making up news stories. They detest it that facts are now checked, which hurts their side far more than the Republicans. Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of Republicans who are just nuts. Like building bridges to an Island in Alaska costing hundreds an hundreds of millions of dollars, yet not even wanted by the people there.
Little by little I am growing tired of the Republicans. Not so much as the Democrats, but to me it seems there isn’t any conviction left in both parties and I see elections now as Libertarians see them. A choice between the lesser of two evils. I don know that the lesser never does seem to be the Republican, although every election I like them less and less.
Where this goes in 10 or 20 years, who is to say. I am among the many Americans out there who feels that all politicians are simply out of touch with the people.
However, you two seem to be making an assumption based off of relatively little evidence. First, you are saying that CNN is biased because democrats asked republicans questions. Second, because CNN is biased, the entire main stream media must be biased as well. You then bring up some points such as how the democrats refused to go on Fox news, while the republicans went on CNN.
As to the first point, how is this biased? I personally believe that every candidate should field questions from every angle, friend or foe. Second, there is no reason to believe the “main stream media” has a bias from anything you have said. Third, you speak of how the democrats refused to go on Fox News. Would you think this similar or disimilar to how every republican candidate but McCain refused to speak to the NAACP?
The reason this is biased is disclosure. What’s wrong with democrats asking all the questions in a republican debate? Nothing. But how relevant is stacking the deck with dem questioners for republican voters. The republican primary is for republicans to make up their minds about the candidates not democrats. But the deception of pretending these are either supposed to be republicans or ‘independent/undecided’ voters reveals an entirely different possible motivation for CNN.
Either CNN meant for lots of stealth questioners to be hostile to the republican candidates (and to republicans in general as well) or they were duped and or too stupid to vet the questioners properly.
In addition, when we look at the dem debates and find the opposite situation happening where not only are there no hostile questioners but ample evidence of planted softball, flattering, and pre-prepared questions for the candidates were in evidence. It’s a pattern of bias.
