This post at the corner says it all.
Comparing Labor Market Data in 1996 and 2008
Democrats on the Economy in 1996:
“Our economy is the healthiest it has been in three decades.” (President Bill Clinton, State of the Union Address, January 23, 1996)
Democrats on the Economy in 2008:
“The bottom line is that this administration is the owner of the worst jobs record since Herbert Hoover.” (Senator Charles Schumer, Press Release, March 7, 2008)
Then compare the stats included in the post.
Actually the references to the great depression are ubiquitious. It must be an election year and the liberal MSM really want to win.
GEORGE Soros, billionaire, philanthropist and hedge fund legend, has characterised today’s situation in global markets as the most severe since the Great Depression. ~theaustralian.news.com.au
The New York Times says that the boom before the bust was actually a bust too. Imagine that, the good times were bad times and the bad times are now the worst ever:
As part of a poll that will be released Wednesday, the Pew Research Center asked people how they had done over the last five years. During that time, remember, the overall economy grew every year, often at a good pace.
Yet most respondents said they had either been stuck in place or fallen backward. Pew says this is the most downbeat short-term assessment of personal progress in almost a half century of polling.
So there!
The Independent is actually labeling this the Great Depression of 2008!

Yes, it must be time to elect a Democrat who can take us into the new FDR years of New Deal socialist utopia.
Of course the left wants everyone to believe that we’re headed for another great depression so that they can bring socialism in the US to full fruition.
Neal Cavuto at least can set our perspectives aright.
