1. No more nukes: We will be disarming.
Shortly after taking the oath of office on Tuesday, he turned what had been a campaign promise into an official presidential commitment: the new Administration “will stop the development of new nuclear weapons,” the White House declared flatly on its website, with no equivocation, asterisks or caveats. ~time.com
As our aging nukes become obsolete and unusable Obama will not replace them. We will be defenceless.
2. The liberal media now pronounces conservatism is over:
I was disappointed that President Obama even acknowledged the existence of Rush Limbaugh in his meeting with Congressional leaders on Friday, although the statement he made was about as controversial as Norway: “You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done.” This, after Limbaugh said he was rooting for Obama to fail, which was a big surprise.
El Rushbo’s bad taste is being excoriated by the smarter conservative commenters like William Bennett, which is appropriate because Limbaugh is their problem: he has become an embarrassing anachronism, like a comedian still doing Dukakis jokes. His brand of entertainment went out with the crash; his ditto-heads are losing their jobs. His crapulous invective only has the power to stigmatize his allies now. So why give him oxygen? This is that rarest of moments: Obama showing a smidgeon of public pique. He should save it for opponents who remain relevant. ~swampland.blogs.time.com
Which is funny since the above is laced with lies.
Number one Limbaugh didn’t say that he was rooting for Obama to fail. As he asked rhetorically: is Obama rooting for conservatives to succeed? Is the liberal media rooting for conservatives to succeed and prevail against their own preferred vision of a socialist America? Of course not. But of course the truth has nothing do with reporting these days. As the next paragraph declares that conservatives are an anacromism in the new age of Obama. That conservative are now irrelevant. Is this reporter rooting for conservatives to succeed– no he rejoices that they haven’t.
This is why the left will revive the fairness doctrine so that we can finally put these dangerous and hateful anachronisms to rest.
3. The war crimes trials are coming. Trust me. There will be ‘investigations’ I have no doubt now. It is an integral part of remaking America.
As President Barack Obama reverses some of ex-President George W. Bush’s most controversial “war on terror” policies, a consensus seems to be building among Democratic congressional leaders that further investigations are needed into Bush’s use of torture and other potential crimes.
On Wednesday – the first working day of the Obama administration – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he would support funding and staff for additional fact-finding by the Senate Armed Services Committee, which last month released a report tracing abuse of detainees at Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib to Bush’s Feb. 7, 2002, decision to exclude terror suspects from Geneva Convention protections.
Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin, who issued that report, echoed Reid’s comments, saying “there needs to be an accounting of torture in this country.” Levin, D-Michigan, also said he intends to encourage the Justice Department and incoming Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate torture practices that took place while Bush was in office.
Two other key Democrats joined in this growing chorus of lawmakers saying that serious investigations should be conducted. ~alternet.org
Yes, my friends, the transformation of our country into another left-wing dictatorship seems to be on it’s way. Political enemies cannot be allowed to walk free on the newly transformed soil of America.
