Left hands out Gore Prize

The joke for today is that Al Gore has been awarded the Nobel Peace prize. I guess now it’s official. 1) The Nobel Peace Prize is handed out by leftists, 2) it has nothing to do with peace and everything to do with politics.

Sad.

Leftist blogger, Josh Marshall, inadvertantly explains the quasi-religious nature of the belief in global warming as a political crusade.

And not to forget what this award is about even more than Gore. If half of what we think we know about global warming is true, people will look back fifty years from now on the claims that “War on Terror” was the defining challenge of this century and see it as a very sick, sad joke — which rather sums up the Bush presidency. ~talkingpointsmemo.com

The war on global warming is now a pivitol part of the left’s global war on capitalism. As such it is endowed with all the hopes and dreams of leftists like Josh Marshall and Al Gore.

Global warming is without a doubt a political matter, not a moral one as Gore would like to claim.

Market failure?

Free markets, Bah! Command and control economies are more, “efficient,” (according to every dictator of any nominal standing).

Reports from Zimbabwe say bakeries have run out of flour and there will be no bread in the foreseeable future.

The Agriculture Ministry has confirmed that this year’s wheat harvest yield of 145,000 tonnes is only one third of the country’s requirements.  ~news.bbc.co.uk

Surely the government should do something to combat this, “market failure”?

Critics have blamed President Mugabe’s policies, especially the seizure of farms from their former white owners, for ordinary Zimbabweans’ hardship.

A foreign currency crisis has helped push inflation to record levels in recent months.

Government price controls have been blamed for worsening shortages.

For his part, President Mugabe has accused foreign governments of trying to interfere in Zimbabwe’s affairs – saying some businesses had raised prices without justification as part of a Western plot to oust him.  ~news.bbc.co.uk

Talk about buying votes. Hillary has a new policy suggestion: giving every child born in the U.S. $5,000. Where is this money supposed to come from? Oh wait, I know, “the rich.”

WASHINGTON – Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday that every child born in the United States should get a $5,000 “baby bond” from the government to help pay for future costs of college or buying a home. ~news.yahoo.com

Digging deep into the psychological well of self-deception and ‘comforting lies’ liberal researchers have announced that their ‘scientific’ research proves that liberals (surprise) are smarter and more adaptive than conservatives.

The left and our enemies want the same exact things!

Speaking to thousands of worshippers during the first Friday prayer of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that Bush will be called to account for the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.
