The American people are so ignorant… and ungovernable. They just don’t know what’s good for them. Why can’t they understand that what Obama and the left want to impose on them is in their best interest?

The concept is called false consciousness. That’s when people fail to realize how great liberalism and socialism is– because they have been forced or tricked into believing the evil propaganda of big business.

Just listen to how Obama explains the overwhelming opposition to his Healthcare takeover:

Still, this is a complex issue, and the longer it was debated, the more skeptical people became.  I take my share of the blame for not explaining it more clearly to the American people. Stupid American people, they  just don’t understand the issue clearly enough. They just don’t see how compassionate the left is in wanting to be in control of health care. It’s that false consciousness once again. Clearly, when folks think that they can make better decisions about their own lives than government officials and politicians in Washington DC something is wrong.

The irony is that throughout the entire effort to ‘Reform Healthcare’ Obama left it to Pelosi and Reid to do the sausage making and they collectively realized that the less said about what was in that sausage the better. The attempt to ram through their reform without any scrutiny was, in hindsight, a poor one. But I doubt that they will learn from their mistakes.

The answer is, of course, more government intervention in order to combat the lies of big business and root out all the false consciousness out there. What we need is a plan to correct this informational injustice. The Fairness Doctrine is an effort along these lines. Government bailouts/takeover of failing news organizations is another. Registering bloggers may be necessary. Tracking your cell phone and keeping a record of all the websites you visit may be necessary as well.

What Obama, Pelosi, and Reid represent is the worst in paternalistic governance.  Welcome to hope and change.

Still, I predict that the people will rise up. The American proletariat are not going to continue to labor under the yoke of their oppressors for long. Ordinary Americans, everyday people, are the government. The one principle upon which this democratic republic is founded is that ‘We the people’ are the source of political power– not professional politicians who see themselves as better equipped to make decisions for us than we are and who assume that we are not clearly informed if we disagree with what they have determined what’s best for us.

Our Leftist President and Congress, at odds with the American people, fully intend to ram ‘Healthcare Reform’ down our throats no matter what– for our own good! “They’ll learn to love it,” they say. Hope and Change indeed. But Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are more likely to feel feedback of another sort from voters if they continue down this road of arrogance and ruin.

According to Democracy Corps, likely voters have a sharply negative view of the president’s health-care and economic plans, and a far more favorable view of Republicans than they did a few months ago. Just another example of how Obama is bringing America together.

In light of this what is the best course of action? When your ideologically driven political agenda is distasteful to most Americans is it wise to disregard the will of the people and double-down? To attempt to ram the legislation through no matter what? Democrats have already hinted that they will try to delay seating Brown if he wins in Massachusetts Tuesday because his election will lose them their 60 seat filibuster safety margin.

Some are hinting that they must cheat in order to win this seat– to save healthcare and to, ‘keep those bastards out [of office].’

A defeat in Massachusetts will not translate into anything resembling thoughtful consideration of the people’s will. Not for Obama and not for Congress.

“Let’s remove all doubt, we will have health care — one way or another,” Pelosi said. “Back to the drawing board means a great big zero for the American people.”  ~sfgate.com

The American people don’t want it, but that sure that doesn’t seem to matter to the left.

It certainly looks like Obama is handing over Central America to commie dictators. But then what do I know? On the other hand, Tom Hayden seems convinced. He seems to believe that Obama is in league with the commies in our southern hemisphere. At the very least he believes Obama is highly sympathetic to the cause of global communism. But maybe he just sees what he urgently hopes for.

Apparently, Obama and Chavez have had lengthy (friendly) talks.

According to eyewitness sources, under the apparently blind eye of the global media, the two leaders had lengthy conversations. The media covered the friendly photo of the initial handshake between the two leaders, then made much ado about an apparently-impertinent Chavez handing Obama a book in Spanish by Eduardo Galleano.

What has not been reported is that Obama, leaving his advisers behind, held lengthy private conversations with Chavez where only an interpreter was present.  ~tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com

Couple this with the fact that Obama has erroneously backed a leftist ally of Chavez who attempted to overthrow the constitution of Honduras and what you have is an apparent preference for 21st century socialism.

The idea that the left here in this country defends Obama and the would-be dictator Zelaya should be a caution. Is this something the left would approve of here in the US? The left views our own consitution as a, ‘flexible,’ ‘living document,’ that can be reinterpreted as they see fit for every ‘new era.’

Meanwhile Obama (and his news media) is silent about Chavez’s threats to invade Honduras to install Zelaya as a puppet of the new socialism. In fact, Chavez even printed the illegal ballots for Zelaya’s overthrow of the Honduras constitution.

What I think this reveals is that Obama is a stealth candidate whose purpose must remain mainly concealed from the general public because his true leftist policies would be completely rejected by a majority of Americans.

Thus Obama has to rely on doublespeak and alternating liberal and conservative messages about his policies. He says one thing while doing another. He claims to be for fiscal responsibility but then increases the deficit by a trillion dollars. He claims a, “fierce moral urgency,” in ending indefinite detention but then continues the policy. He claims not to be hostile to capitalism but then begins nationalizing the auto industry and begins the nationalization of the heath care industry.

Literally. The Obama administration wants to bulldoze entire swaths of American cities in order to re-engineer them. The next logical step is forced re-locations.

Even I would not have dared suggest that Obama would already be moving forward with the physical destruction of America so soon.

Having outlined his strategy to Barack Obama during the election campaign, Mr Kildee has now been approached by the US government and a group of charities who want him to apply what he has learnt to the rest of the country.

I think that this is just a taste of the future in a progressive America. A shrinking America. Bulldozed and socially engineered according to what the best and brightest minds have deemed proper. Cram everyone into urban centers where they are more easily controlled and regulated. When leftists complain and bemoan about ‘Urban sprawl’ what they really mean is that people have too much freedom of movement and choice. They fail to make the right choices, i.e. the ones the left wants, and when people make the wrong choices (according to them) then government has to step in and correct yet another ‘market failure’.

Limiting growth is not just a side effect of an economic downturn it is in fact the goal for the left. Much of the popular liberal ideology focuses on downsizing America as a public good. Limited growth is the ultimate end goal of the left.

The left has plans for where and how you should live, what you will eat and how much you will have to exercise. Once the government is paying for your health care your exercise and eating habits will no longer be a matter of personal choice, it will be a matter of national economics. Once the government begins paying for your life it will own you and then the government will be deciding your life for you.

Three letter word

What’s a three letter word meaning, “Created or saved?” Why, *J – O – B – S*, of course. Quite simply, the dishonesty and doubletalk from Obama and his administration are epidemic and incurable. Obama is a compulsive liar. Everything he says is a lie, a purposeful deception, meant to disguise a radical leftist agenda to ‘transform’ America.

Tax cuts for 95% of Americans? How about massive tax increases across the board with the cost of everything going through the roof. VAT taxes. Energy taxes. Soda taxes. Fat taxes. Health Care taxes. The list goes on and on. There are literally thousands of taxes being cued up in the Democrat congress as we speak.

Fiscal responsibility? Bush left us a deficit of about $400 billion. (We can blame some of that on the cost of two wars.) But Obama steps into office and pushes through the most massive spending packages in the history of the earth. Multiplying the deficit to a record $1.8 trillion according to the Congressional Budget office in his ‘historic’ first 100 days. Likely, this will end up being even more since Pelosi and Reid have mentioned that they may need more stimulus money to spend. No doubt right about the time they need to get reelected. Most ethical congress ever. Right?

Which brings us to that three letter word: jobs. The scare tactic used by Obama was that if they didn’t pass the stimulus package immediately (and without debate) then unemployment would skyrocket to 9%! That ONLY if their plan was enacted would unemployment peak at 8% briefly and then begin to fall precipitously as the era of Obama utopia begins.

Instead, the stimulus plan seems to have accelerated unemployment. What they meant to say was that with the stimulus unemployment would top 9% because it’s now 9.4% and rising.

But don’t worry Obama has plenty of lies to help the liberal media cover up the truth.

Mr. Fratto sees a double standard at play. “We would never have used a formula like ‘save or create,’” he tells me. “To begin with, the number is pure fiction — the administration has no way to measure how many jobs are actually being ‘saved.’ And if we had tried to use something this flimsy, the press would never have let us get away with it.”

Of course, the inability to measure Mr. Obama’s jobs formula is part of its attraction. Never mind that no one — not the Labor Department, not the Treasury, not the Bureau of Labor Statistics — actually measures “jobs saved.” As the New York Times delicately reports, Mr. Obama’s jobs claims are “based on macroeconomic estimates, not an actual counting of jobs.” Nice work if you can get away with it. ~online.wsj.com

Obama is constructing a house built on pure lies. But he can get away with it because the liberal press has no interest in objectivity.

Not only has Obama and his accomplices spent more than any One-Party-Government in history but they are getting ready to nationalize another industry and are already telegraphing that price is no object:

The problem with this is that Obama is standing at the bow of this ship declaring that he’s king of the world even as he steers it toward the icebergs with a crazy gleem in his eyes. All the while saying that he’s saving or creating lives.

In the end, if Obama succeeds, America fails.

Every vehicle will cost more, go slower, not go as far, and will likely not be as safe to drive, but it’s all for our own good: the government says so. Trucks and SUV’s will be all but outlawed it seems.

Yes, this does look like the “Transformation of America” that I expected. An America where decisions are made from the top and handed down across the land. It will no doubt take time for our rulers to get around to tackling Urban Blight and Sprawl by making decrees as well, but socialist centrally-planned utopias aren’t built overnight.

The higher mileage and emissions standards set by the Obama administration on Tuesday, which begin to take effect in 2012 and are to be achieved by 2016, will transform the American car and truck fleet.

Only government can do this job of regulating and transforming our society, one aspect, one industry at a time. Free Markets would never get around to making the hard political choices of banning products and services people want and are willing to pay for. Especially when a free market is not intelligent the way a single dictator is. No one person makes any decisions in a free market. It’s just the choices of individuals who aren’t smart enough to know what’s good for them.

What’s key to understanding Obama’s presidiency? He ran as a centrist, promising  to unite America with promises like cutting taxes for 95% of Americans. (What do you call a ‘tax cut’ when you don’t pay any taxes?) Once elected The-One Party government has proposed zero tax cuts and quite a few tax increases and proceeded to balloon the deficit beyond any previous government.

As he reveals what his actual policies are we find more and more government intervention and takeover. Total transformation of the United States of America is his stated goal and he intends to deliver.

Let’s look at the deficit. We were told that we must elect Democrats because Bush was such a profligate spender. Democrats ran on a platform of fiscal conservatism. All lies.

You can see the Bush/Congress budgets from 2000 to 2008. Notice the tall red lines to the right starting at 2008 there. These are not Bush budgets, they are the Obama/Democrat congress budgets. The difference is exponential.

What is happening since the election of Obama and a completely Democrat controlled congress is a government completely out of control. Bankruptcy cannot be far behind. These budgets are unsustainable.

Add to this the nationalization of the auto industry, the healthcare industry, and the financial industry and what you have is the beginning of total government control of every aspect of our lives. There will be no freedom of speech to criticize your employer when it is the government providing your job. There will be no free speech at all after the government ‘bailout’ of the press. The government will own the presses.

This is the left’s top down approach to democracy and it is Obama’s method of madness. The best and the brightest make decisions and plan the economy for the benefit of all the people. In essence, the government controls the people. Since we are the government, they say, it’s all ok. But this is how socialism works, (or rather doesn’t work). This is a giant left turn off the cliff and into total government control. Total as in totalitarian. Eventually nothing is exempt from that control.

Once the government is paying for your healthcare, guess what, they will be deciding what foods you will be allowed to eat,  and how much you exercise.

The left has no plans or principles that will prevent every minute detail of your life coming under the control of some government agency, basically allowing some beauracrat to step in and hassle you to death. As government takes over more areas there will be more reason to take over more. You will be fined, harrassed, monitored and eventually incarcerated if you do not do whatever some government busy body wants you to do. –And it will all be for your own good of course.

This is nothing less than slavery. But it is the change that Obama promised. This is the way he will ‘set us free’.

60% Say Government Has Too Much Power, Too Much Money

…Not surprisingly, the Political Class sees things a lot differently. While 85% of Mainstream Americans say the government has too much power and money, just two percent (2%) of the Political Class agree. Nearly one-our-of-four members (24%) of the Political Class, in fact, believe the government has too little money and power, but 68% say it has about the right amount of each.

While slightly more than half of those working for both the government and private industry say the government is too big, 79% of entrepreneurs feel that way.

The findings follow last week’s “tea party” protests against higher government spending and the threat of higher taxes. Fifty-one percent (51%) of Americans have a favorable view of the tea parties, but the Political Class strongly disagrees.  ~rasmussenreports.com

This is fundamentally a conservative country despite the election of a socialist leaning administration. So will the Obama adminstration continue their drive toward socializing America. No doubt they will.
