Gallup poll says that 73% of the American public have sufficient reading comprehension to understand the second amendment another 20% are commie-libs who prefer a totalitarian socialist interpretation of the constitution:

PRINCETON, NJ — A solid majority of the U.S. public, 73%, believes the Second Amendment to the Constitution guarantees the rights of Americans to own guns. Twenty percent believe the amendment only guarantees the rights of state militia members to own guns. ~gallup.com

This 20% lines up perfectly with the amount of hardcore liberals in America who admire Hugo Chavez and his 21st century socialism: Sean Penn, Danny Glover, Code Pink and the like.

It’s not difficult to understand really:

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

The jack booted thugs of the gun-control gestappo are doing a sweep for guns through D.C. neighborhoods. Hmm, couldn’t wait for a constitutional ruling, eh?

Police are asking residents to submit to voluntary searches in exchange for amnesty under the District’s gun ban. They passed out fliers requesting cooperation on Monday.

The program will begin in a couple of weeks in the Washington Highlands neighborhood of southeast Washington and will later expand to other neighborhoods. Officers will go door to door asking residents for permission to search their homes.

Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier said the “safe homes initiative” is aimed at residents who want to cooperate with police.

Get a load of this telling next sentence!

She gave the example of parents or grandparents who know or suspect their children have guns in the home. Community leaders went door to door in Ward 8 Monday to advise residents not to invite police into their homes to search for weapons. ~nbc4.com

1. Banning guns works, which is why New York, DC, & Chicago cops need guns.

2. Washington DC’s low murder rate of 69 per 100,000 is due to strict gun control, and Indianapolis’ high murder rate of 9 per 100,000 is due to the lack of gun control.

3. Statistics showing high murder rates justify gun control but statistics showing increasing murder rates after gun control are “just statistics.”

4. The Brady Bill and the Assault Weapons Ban, both of which went into effect in 1994 are responsible for the decrease in violent crime rates, which have been declining since 1991.

First of all, let me just mention that ‘gun control is learning how to hit your target’. That said, let’s examine, ‘dissect’ if you will, the reheated, refried, retried, liberal leftovers of the Barak Hussein Obama campaign. Gun control is one of those quintissential liberal issues that get regurgutated again and again as THE answer to inner city violence. Second amendment? What’s that? Dan Simpson, retired diplomat and journalist, has never heard of such a thing. He’s just imagining a world without violence.

Now, how would one disarm the American population? First of all, federal or state laws would need to make it a crime punishable by a $1,000 fine and one year in prison per weapon to possess a firearm. The population would then be given three months to turn in their guns, without penalty. ~toledoblade.com

Yup. Expected and predictable. Gun control advocates and freaks have already begun their spin and readied their propaganda campaigns. European press reaction? Guns kill people. It’s Charlton Heston’s fault.

The perfect hypocrisy has always been represented by the limosuine liberal. Richer than I to be sure. Claiming to be for the working man who is just getting by, they view themselves as oh so generous and kindhearted for advocating policies that are ‘for the poor’ and ‘for the little guy’ but do little but enrich the government and force the working man to stand in lines at the guv’mint office begging for aid.

Of course they can’t possibly live next door to any of the rabble…
