…America wins! (Thank you Scott Brown.)

“61% Say It’s Time for Congress To Drop Health Care” And with that, it’s time to move on to other America destroying legislation.

After a year of trying to rush this bill through, of trying to hide what is in it and get it passed without any scrutiny at all, and promising, threatening to take over the greedy Healthcare industry, illustrious Senator Reid says, “What Bill? Healthcare reform… what’s that?”

“We’re not on health care now,” Mr. Reid said. “We’ve talked a lot about it in the past.” [Like yesterday?]

He added, “There is no rush,” and noted that Congress still had most of this year to work on the health bills passed in 2009 by the Senate and the House. ~nytimes.com

The more the American people learned about every iteration of this atrocious legislation the more they realized that Democrats did not have them in mind. In fact, every policy of this Obama-Pelosi-Reid government has been disastrous. The stimulus, said to have saved or created millions of jobs, is actually driving up unemployment and pushing this country further over the precipice of national bankruptcy.

But now that Healthcare is dead, it’s time to pretend to be fiscally responsible!

According to the CBO our trainwreck of government debt is now flying down the tracks toward the Barack Hussein Memorial Precipice. Oddly enough, Obama’s ascension to office has been accompanied by an acceleration of spending beyond anything in the history of this nation and there’s no slowing down despite some talk (finally) about possibly, maybe, theoretically, at some future date of putting on the brakes.

The CBO baseline contains two important messages. First, Washington is accumulating debt at an unsustainable rate. After the debt slowly grew to $5.8 trillion through 2008, the more realistic baseline shows the federal government adding an astonishing $16.3 trillion in new debt between 2009 and 2020–$130,000 per household over those 12 years. ~heritage.org

Obama will prove that he can ruin the economy with more than just healthcare. I’m sure tax increases, cap and trade, new regulations on businesses, laws re-muzzling the free speech of corporations, and more higher taxes to pay for the Healthcare reform bill democrats will try to sneak through will bring us right out of the depression and into unprecedented prosperity! Hope and Change.

This is too much: “President Obama Blocks ‘Tax Cheats’ From Government Work”

For this to be mere irony would mean that Obama and everyone around him are completely blind to the fact that he nominated a score of tax cheats to his cabinet. Of course, for it to be hypocrisy would mean that they know and don’t care. Paying taxes is for the ruled, not the rulers.

So which is it: irony or hypocrisy? I’ll be charitable and let you decide. But keep in mind that the person in charge of the agency enforcing this edict is Timothy ‘turbotax cheat’ Geithner. Maybe Charles Rangel can help enforce this as well?

Tax problems

If this is how Obama is going to pivot from the direct loss in Mass in his second year of office

I’ve made the argument that it makes as much sense for the government to take over the food supply as it does Healthcare. Alas, we all knew that they’d eventually get to that too– and it looks like they are beginning to get to it with HR 2749, the ‘Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009′.

Our friends (and I use the word loosely) Waxman and Dingle have come up with legislation that typifies the sort of overreach and ominous tyranny indicative of all the legislation they are coming up with in congress now that they are the only party in power.

The one thing we know about the era of Obama is that every aspect of our lives will ultimately be under the tight control of the government whether we want it or not– and it’s all for our own good!

But don’t take my word for it. Natural News declares that this bill requires immediate opposition, a blogger at foodfreedom describes it as, “Totalitarian Control of the Food Supply,” a DailyKos diary calls it fascist (truly it doesn’t take much to be called fascist at DailyKos but I thought I’d throw it in there), and Stop socialism now says, “Fed Takeover Of All Food Production Almost Done!”

Some of the disconcerting and dire provisions within the bill include:

- HR 2749 will require the mandatory imposition of annual registration fees in the amount of $500 upon any “facility” that holds, processes, or manufactures food. Even though “farms” are exempt, the bill’s definition of “farm” is so scarcely defined that folks selling cheeses, breads, and other products from their farms or at the farmers market would be required to pay this fee, potentially driving many small producers and start-ups out of business, especially during tough times.

- HR 2749 will give FDA the power to directly regulate the methods by which crops are raised and harvested, essentially handing complete and total control of every farming operation to the federal government.

- HR 2749 will give FDA the power to halt the movement of all food in a particular geographic area in the event of a food contamination scare or outbreak. The provision directly includes “prohibiting or restricting the movement of food or of any vehicle being used or that has been used to transport or hold such food within the geographic area”, effectively shutting down any and all local food sources, farmers markets, or cooperatives within that area, even if their products have no connection to the actual contamination source.

- HR 2749 will give limitless power to FDA to conduct random searches of the business records of small farmers and local food providers without a warrant or even the slightest hint of evidence that there has been any sort of violation. It essentially allows clear passage by the federal government into the private records of its choice with no requirement of probable cause or legitimate reason for doing so.

- HR 2749 will appoint the Secretary of Health and Human Services as the taskmaster in establishing a food tracing system that will require an extensive, convoluted system of tracking each item and ingredient from origin to distribution. Because the bill fails to outline the logistical procedures for how this complex task will be accomplished and how it will be paid for, it once again hands an unprecedented amount of power over to the federal government to control and tax as it sees fit in order to accomplish whatever arbitrary requirements it wishes to inflict upon our farmers and food producers.

- HR 2749 imposes grievous criminal and civil penalties, including fines of up to $100,000 for each violation, per individual, and up to 10 years in prison. ~naturalnews.com

Who’s worried about the patriot act now? We are rapidly approaching the point where literally nothing will be exempt from the power of the government to directly control, dictate, punish, and intervene without warrant or respect to constitutional rights. It will be an administrative matter.

The Obama campaign thinks they are so smart don’t they? Except that they aren’t. At all.

Yep. The day after 9/11, as part of its “get tough” makeover, the Obama campaign is mocking John McCain for not using a computer, without caring why he doesn’t use a computer. From the AP story about the computer illiterate ad:

“Our economy wouldn’t survive without the Internet, and cyber-security continues to represent one our most serious national security threats,” [Obama spokesman Dan] Pfeiffer said. “It’s extraordinary that someone who wants to be our president and our commander in chief doesn’t know how to send an e-mail.”

Well, I guess it depends on what you mean by “extraordinary.” The reason he doesn’t send email is that he can’t use a keyboard because of the relentless beatings he received from the Viet Cong in service to our country. From the Boston Globe (March 4, 2000):

McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain’s encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He’s an avid fan – Ted Williams is his hero – but he can’t raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball. ~corner.nationalreview.com

Just when I thought that Democrats couldn’t be any more venally idiotic Harry Reid goes and opens his mouth.

Harry Reid: Energy companies use “the old Hitler lie”

He accused the coal industry of using “the old Hitler lie — when you say things long enough people start believing them.”

The comparison of the coal industry to Nazis came before his keynote speech, which began and ended with references to “the Jewish sages of yesteryear.”

A statement worthy of Goebbels himself. Corrupt Democrat Senator Reid makes us all sick with the perpetuation of his culture of corruption.

Democrats seem bent on destroying America. Knocking all our energy supplies out from under us will effectively cripple our economy. This is fine with the left because capitalism is the enemy. Our economy is based on oppression and exploitation according to them and stopping that is worth destroying the country because something better (ie ‘change’) will replace it.

This isn’t some fringe character, some crazy uncle that one has in the attic. This is one of the Democratic Party’s leadership explaining why he and his party will never allow for extensive increases in domestic supply for coal and oil, the two leading sources of energy in the US, along with natural gas. “Coal makes us sick. Oil makes us sick. It’s global warming. It’s ruining our country, it’s ruining our world. We’ve got to stop using fossil fuel.” ~hotair.com

We can go back to Harry Reid’s inadvertent admission that repeating (the global warming) lies will eventually make people believe it. The corrupt Senator sure knows his Nazi propaganda tactics doesn’t he?

The Archbishop of Canterbury feels perfectly willing to surrender to Muslims– sharia law in Britain is unavoidable!

LONDON – Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, spiritual leader of the world’s Anglicans, said on Thursday the introduction in Britain of some aspects of sharia, Islamic law, was unavoidable.

His unexpected comments were welcomed by some Muslim groups, but the government was quick to distance itself from them, saying it was out of the question that the principles of sharia could be used in British civil courts. Williams, speaking to the BBC, said other religions enjoyed tolerance of their laws in Britain and he called for a “constructive accommodation” with Muslim practice in areas such as marital disputes.

Asked if the adoption of sharia was necessary for community cohesion, Williams said: “It seems unavoidable. ~christiantoday.com

But there is no surrender for Anglicans who don’t agree with liberalism. Community cohesion for conservative Anglicans? No way, they’re rebels.

Church of England: Archbishop confronts Anglican rebels

Williams challenges legitimacy and authority of breakaway faction

The Archbishop of Canterbury last night directly challenged the rebel Anglicans who have launched a breakaway faction within the global communion. In unusually forthright language, he accused them of lacking legitimacy, authority and, by implication, integrity.

Breaking his silence over the conservative threat to the unity of the 77 million-strong communion, Williams warned the leaders of the conservative coalition that demolishing existing structures was not the answer to their concerns.

Responding to the creation at the weekend of the Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans (Foca), a global network for millions of Anglicans unhappy with liberal teaching on matters such as homosexuality and women priests, Williams said: “If they [the teachings] are not working effectively, the challenge is to renew them rather than to improvise solutions that may seem to be effective for some in the short term but will continue to create more problems than they solve.” ~guardian.co.uk

Part of the liberal orthodoxy is a belief that western civilization, including conservative christianity, is tainted, evil, and needs to go away.

Liberals favored world-saving peace organization produces the results you would expect from a disfunctional liberal (i.e. socialist) organization…

Children as young as six are being sexually abused by peacekeepers and aid workers, says a leading UK charity.

Children in post-conflict areas are being abused by the very people drafted into such zones to help look after them, says Save the Children.

After research in Ivory Coast, southern Sudan and Haiti, the charity proposed an international watchdog be set up.

Save the Children said it had sacked three workers for breaching its codes, and called on others to do the same.

The three men were all dismissed in the past year for having had sex with girls aged 17 – which the charity said was a sackable offence even though not illegal.

The UN has said it welcomes the charity’s report, which it will study closely. ~bbc

It really gets tiresome to listen to the appeasers and terror apologists rant about Bush while gushing over every two-bit dictator and terrorist. Jimmy Carter, the anti-president, is the poster-boy of liberal evil appeasement:

Former President Jimmy Carter is reportedly preparing an unprecedented meeting with the leader of Hamas, an organization that the U.S. government considers one of the leading terrorist threats in the world. ~foxnews.com

It’s obvious that Carter sees good where there is evil and evil where there is good. Can there be any better definition of bad judgment?
