Al Sharpton explains that Obama’s Socialist transformation of America has truly begun:

“This began the transformation of the country that the President promised when he was elected,” Geraldo interrupts, “To socialism?” Sharpton: “First of all, then we’d have to say the American Public overwhelmingly voted Socialism when they elected President Obama.” ~YouTube.com

The fact is that Obama didn’t tell us the truth when he ran for president. He didn’t run as the socialist he is so what Sharpton suggests is wrong. America couldn’t have voted for socialism in electing him. Obama pretended to be a centrist interested in bipartisanship and promising tax cuts! Obama would have never won running on his true policy mission: something akin to a Hugo Chavez style transformation of America.

The heavy burden of taxation and control that this congress and President seek to put on American businesses and citizens will not result in prosperity. Democrats make the argument that higher taxes and higher spending will reduce the deficit and create jobs. The opposite is true. It will enlarge the government economy at the expense of the American economy. Unless you want to count the 16,500 new IRS enforcement agents to be hired to hunt down all the new criminals who may have failed to buy a government approved health insurance policy at the price the government sets.

Democrats Fundamental Transformation of America will, if fully enacted, result in the collapse of our economy. (79% fear US economy could collapse.) A good example is California. The same runaway spending, ever higher taxes, and Democrat special interest control will eventually bankrupt this state and the Federal government is being run in just the same manner.

Just the beginning

This healthcare bill has nothing to do with better healthcare. Pure and simple it is about controlling the people. It is a first step to universal healthcare. With its mandates, higher taxes, price controls, and far reaching arbitrary regulations this bill will result in destroying what’s left of healthcare. Once the heavy hand of government is through ‘fixing’ healthcare by destroying it, the next step will be proposed: outright nationalization.

Thank God that the left is finally brazen enough to come out and admit the truth. Democrat Rep. Dingle says that the purpose of their policies is in fact, “to control the people.”

Let me remind you this [Americans allegedly dying because of lack of universal health care] has been going on for years. We are bringing it to a halt. The harsh fact of the matter is when you’re going to pass legislation that will cover 300 [million] American people in different ways it takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken to put the legislation together to control the people. ~americanthinker.com

Against the people

Democrats claim that everyone loves this legislation. That a majority of Americans approve of and want this bill. But that is obviously the standard socialist propaganda. The left believes, as a tenet of their faith in government, that everything they do is for the people and that the capitalist-oppressed-masses are all for their socialist liberation. However, this isn’t true. Americans oppose this mess.

A CNN poll puts opposition to this Democrat takeover at a whopping 59%:

Washington (CNN) – A majority of Americans have a dim view of the sweeping health care bill passed by the House, saying it gives Washington too much clout and won’t do much to reduce their own health care costs or federal deficits, according to a new poll released Monday.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll found that 59 percent of those surveyed opposed the bill, and 39 percent favored it. All of the interviews were conducted before the House voted Sunday night, but the contents of the bill were widely known.

In addition, 56 percent said the bill gives the government too much involvement in health care; 28 percent said it gives the government the proper role and 16 percent said it leaves Washington with an inadequate role. ~politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com

Democrats counter by saying that other polling is higher for individual items of reform so really the people are just confused about the messy ‘process’. Those poor ignorant masses will see what’s in the bill once it’s passed. Sadly, this is an unfortunate side effect of socialist

More destructive change coming…

If Democrats continue on this path and pass more of their socialist agenda to control America, like cap and trade, we will no longer be free, there will only be those who rule and those who are ruled. Government will be an ever present ‘parent’ guiding your every decision and controlling every choice. Between healthcare and the environmental power they seek there will be no limit on what will be controlled by the Federal Government. The constitution will cease to exist.

Once the government owns your healthcare they will decide how much you should exercise and what you eat. They will decide what treatments you receive. They will decide what medical research is necessary. They will eventually mandate all kinds of things like doctor visits.

Cap and trade covers everything we use energy for. Everything with emissions will potentially be under the control of the Federal government. How often you drive your car, and how far. How much energy and water you use in your home.

The left recognizes no limit on what is potentially under their direct control. They have no principles that would ultimately ensure your liberty in any area of life.

The cost

Spending trillions to save billions is logic that only congress could come up with. This new entitlement will require massive new taxes. There has never been an entitlement that cost what it was said to cost when the entitlement was enacted. We are headed toward national bankruptcy. They’ve spent all the money collected from social security, all that’s left are IOU’s. Democrats have a budget deficit this year in the trillions with no end in sight and their policy agenda is more and more spending and new entitlements.

The cost, my friends, will be our freedom.

Our Leftist President and Congress, at odds with the American people, fully intend to ram ‘Healthcare Reform’ down our throats no matter what– for our own good! “They’ll learn to love it,” they say. Hope and Change indeed. But Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are more likely to feel feedback of another sort from voters if they continue down this road of arrogance and ruin.

Carville poll: Only a third of voters support Barack Obama’s national health-care plan

According to Democracy Corps, likely voters have a sharply negative view of the president’s health-care and economic plans, and a far more favorable view of Republicans than they did a few months ago. Because Democracy Corps was founded by Democrats James Carville and Stanley Greenberg, the firm’s findings have significant influence in national Democratic circles. ~dailycaller.com

Just another example of how Obama is bringing America together.

In light of this what is the best course of action? When your ideologically driven political agenda is distasteful to most Americans is it wise to disregard the will of the people and double-down? To attempt to ram the legislation through no matter what? Democrats have already hinted that they will try to delay seating Brown if he wins in Massachusetts Tuesday because his election will lose them their 60 seat filibuster safety margin.

Some are hinting that they must cheat in order to win this seat– to save healthcare and to, ‘keep those bastards out [of office].’

A defeat in Massachusetts will not translate into anything resembling thoughtful consideration of the people’s will. Not for Obama and not for Congress.

President Barack Obama plans a combative response if, as White House aides fear, Democrats lose Tuesday’s special Senate election in Massachusetts, close advisers say.

“This is not a moment that causes the president or anybody who works for him to express any doubt,” a senior administration official said. “It more reinforces the conviction to fight hard.” ~dyn.politico.com

And the queen of the House has issued a proclamation as well:

“Let’s remove all doubt, we will have health care — one way or another,” Pelosi said. “Back to the drawing board means a great big zero for the American people.” ~sfgate.com

The American people don’t want it, but that sure that doesn’t seem to matter to the left.

“…we will have health care — one way or another,” Pelosi said.

“One year ago, Americans all across this country went to the polls and cast ballots for the future they wanted to see,” Obama said. A future of higher taxes, more government control, and far less personal freedom? I don’t think so.

Maybe I’m naive, but does campaigning for tax cuts equate to creating a mandate for soviet style ‘reinvention’ of the economy? No, I don’t think it does.

Vague promises of, “change,” promises of tax cuts, fiscal responsibility, and transparency were carefully calculated to deceive as many voters as possible. It worked to get Obama elected but like all lies meant to make a sale the mark eventually learns the truth once they try to take possession of the goods. What we have purchased in this President and his Congress is not a centrist government but a far far left one.

Just words

Obama’s explicit promises to have an open and transparent debate about his healthcare takeover were just words. Or lies, if you prefer.

Obama Reneges on Health Care Transparency

Count ‘Em… Obama Lied 8 Times about Televising Healthcare Debate

When a CNN commentator like Jack Kafferty calls Obama a liar… you know damn well the jig is up.

What a far cry from the election, when then-candidate Obama pledged to- quote, ‘broadcast health care negotiations on C-SPAN, so that the American people can see what the choices are,’ unquote. President Obama hasn’t even made a token effort to keep his campaign promises of more openness and transparency in government. It was all just another lie that was told in order to get elected. ~breitbart.tv

One of Obama’s central campaign promises was tax cuts for 95% of Americans. But instead he sees his mandate as higher taxes, record deficit spending, and blaming Bush for the results of these policies as they destroy our economy. A progressive socialist-style depression is what will follow his policies.

There is no mandate for nationalizing healthcare. Which is why Pelosi, Reid, and Obama want this bill rammed through as quickly as possible in order to avoid scrutiny. No debate. No citizen participation, (that’s not how ruling works).

Obama tried to make it appear that his platform was lower taxes. His campaign of vague promises of ‘change’ was carefully calculated to deceive as many voters as possible. America didn’t vote to fundamentally transform America into a leftist country. They thought they were voting for a return to fiscal responsibility. They thought they were voting for a centrist democrat.

What we seem to have gotten is an administration willing to resemble a classic cult of personality. Public school children are made to sing songs extolling our great leader and all the wonderful things he will do for his people. Obama accepts undeserved accolades as if they were his due and expects his lapdog press to parrot his party line. These are the tactics of dictatorships, marxists, and totalitarian regimes.

From wikipedia:

Generally, personality cults are most common in regimes with totalitarian systems of government, that seek to radically alter or transform society according to (supposedly) revolutionary new ideas. Often, a single leader becomes associated with this revolutionary transformation, and comes to be treated as a benevolent “guide” for the nation, without whom the transformation to a better future cannot occur. This has been generally the justification for personality cults that arose in totalitarian societies of the 20th century, such as those of Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin. ~wikipedia

Free markets have failed and we must now embark on a new transformative path of change. All of our problems are due to the greed of big business, so instead we need wise experts, technocrats, and politicians to make economic decisions for the common good in order to create a fair and prosperous society.

Sounds familiar. Sadly, this experiment never ends well. How unwell it will end in our case depends on how far Obama and his congress take us down the road to serfdom.

There’s nothing worse we could do than put politicians in charge of the economy. The argument is an old one, discredited and debunked, but one held as tightly as belief in the trinity, baptism by water, or that buddha is enlightenment; in essence it is this: that business is greedy and the rich are rich because they take wealth from the poor. The history of this nation and of the system of capitalism that has developed over many years says otherwise. Wealth in free capitalist countries benefits rich and poor alike because it is the thing called capital in capitalism that works for society, to improve, invest, and return a higher standard of living to both rich and poor alike.

The truth is that however bad you think free markets are– political markets are far worse. America is a country that has never been perfect, being peopled by persons of imperfection, but in the combination of freedom, individualism, property rights, classical liberal morality, and dare I say Judeo-Christian morality, we have achieved a standard of living unparalleled by any other civilization in the history of the earth. The poor in the United States live like no other class of poor in history.

It is not by chance or fickle fortune that wealth has accrued to the capitalist system. Even as Marx fundamentally misunderstood what was happening before his eyes he nevertheless recognized that capitalism does indeed produce wealth and this wealth produced higher standards of living for all.

Dismantling the structures of American capitalism and replacing it with the structures of a politicized economy will destroy wealth creation in this country and likely the world economy will follow. The transformation that Obama and his congress are now pursuing is nothing less than a grand looting. Eventually, if we follow it to it’s logical conclusion, it will effectively end American democracy and destroy personal freedom.

Culture of corruption update:

By GEOFF EARLE Post Correspondent
March 11, 2009

WASHINGTON – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has gone from frequent flier to jet-aircraft connoisseur, with aides berating military officials to get the best planes, e-mails revealed yesterday.

Pelosi, who clashed with the military to get nonstop service when she flies home to California with police protection on government planes, revealed a particular fondness for Gulfstream’s sleek G-5 – a plane glamorized in Hollywood films and rap videos.

“It is my understanding there are no G-5s available for the House during the Memorial Day recess. This is totally unacceptable . . . The speaker will want to know where the planes are,” a Pelosi aide wrote in an angry e-mail to the military. ~nypost.com

These people are out of control. Mitch McConnell says they are spending $1 Billion dollars an hour!

“In just 50 days, Congress has voted to spend about $1.2 trillion between the Stimulus and the Omnibus,” McConnell says. “To put that in perspective, that’s about $24 billion a day, or about $1 billion an hour—most of it borrowed. There’s simply no question: government spending has spun out of control.” ~politico.com

So what it begins to look like is that all these years that Democrats were using spending as a cudgel against republicans the reality is that the precense of the GOP in power was actually holding back Democrats from spending like drunken sailors (which is in fact an insult to drunken sailors everywhere).

“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” ~Barack Hussein Obama, Missouri, October 30, 2008 – (Now with youtube video!)

Fundamentally transforming America? Too bad the complete and total economic ruin of this country will be the result of this effort, but then you can’t make an omelet if you don’t break a few eggs, right?

Obama ran as a centrist, a moderate, a conservative even; and once again we see that if we don’t know how the left has redefined a term we have no idea what they mean. He is decidedly not a centrist and certainly wants to conceal just how radical his agenda really is. We have seen a purposeful strategy of talking conservative and then doing liberal. All to what end?

The current economic free-fall is not unwelcome to the Obama administration, in fact, it may be crucial to their plans. It is the perfect opportunity.

Hillary Clinton:

BRUSSELS (Reuters) – Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told an audience Friday “never waste a good crisis,” and highlighted the opportunity of rebuilding economies in a greener, less energy-intensive way. ~in.reuters.com

Rahm Emmanuel:

“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.” ~allthenewsthatfits.wordpress.com

Obama:

Obama: Crisis is time of ‘great opportunity’

WASHINGTON – As the dreadful economic news piles up, President Barack Obama challenged the nation Saturday to not just hang in there but rather to see the hard times as a chance to “discover great opportunity in the midst of great crisis.” ~msnbc.msn.com

As Jonah Goldberg so perfectly illustrates:

Imagine a child falls down a well. Now imagine I offer to lend the parents my ladder to save her, but only if they promise to paint my house. Would you applaud me for not letting a crisis go to waste? Or would you think I’m a jerk?

I ask because I’m trying to come to terms with Rule No. 1 of the Obama administration.

“Rule 1: Never allow a crisis to go to waste,” ~LA Times

Read the manual

Why is crisis important to a community organizer? Well, for starters, it’s in the manual. Chicago radical Saul Alinski is the father of liberal ‘community organizers’ and Obama and Michelle are students and followers of his in Chicago. They’ve quoted him in their speeches and they have set about to do exactly as he has advised in order to ‘transform America’.

The opening sentence of “Rules for Radicals: A pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals,” by Saul Alinski:

“What follows is for those who want to change the world from what it is to what they believe it should be. The Prince was written by Machiavelli for the Haves on how to hold power. Rules for Radicals is written for the Have-Nots on how to take it away.”

Alinsky describes his ideology as the, “Ideology of Change,” and in describing how to bring about that change Alinski says, essentially, that the ends justify the means when “mass salvation” is juxtaposed against “personal salvation.”

The practical revolutionary will understand Goethe’s “conscience is the virtue of observers and not of agents of action”; in action, one does not always enjoy the luxury of a decision that is consistent both with one’s individual conscience and the good of mankind.

…the third rule of the ethics of means and ends is that in war the end justifies almost any means.

Why am I quoting from Rules for Radicals? Because it is highly relevant and I believe that it is the blueprint for Obama’s entire political career; indeed his entire campaign for president seems to be lifted from it’s pages.

In little over a month Obama has begun the first step of his radical agenda by deepening the economic crisis. Spending a trillion dollars (in addition to and outside the annual budget) in the first month alone. That’s twice as much as has been spent on the entire Iraq war over six years!

He has instituted Cap and trade, which is certain to drive energy costs to unimaginable levels. Far eclipsing any theoretical $13 tax cut for 95% of all Americans. Obama himself describes it as bankrupting Coal Power plants.

Facts, aides said, would be the cornerstone of the administration’s public relations push. Officials faced a tough haul, even as Mr. Orszag and others said the proposal would raise taxes on wealthy Americans and increase energy costs.

Mr. Emanuel said energy costs are too low anyway. ~washingtontimes.com

He has outlined his economic policy as one of ‘fairness’, and pitting the rich against the poor, promising businesses and investors tax increases and punishment for profits.

His proposed budget for this year is $3.6 trillion dollars in addition to a trillion dollar stimulus and who knows how many other emergency spending bills.

Every time Obama releases details about his agenda the stock market goes down and he says he doesn’t care. Why? Why would a President be completely unconcerned with the stock market plunging daily? It could be because he believes that the money in the stock market is in the wrong hands. And his whole plan is to put that money in the hands of those he thinks are more worthy.

To do that he must first prepare the battlefield. Soften up his targets.

–it is necessary to begin where the world is if we are going to change it to what we think it should be. That means working in the system.

There’s another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevski said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution. To bring on this reformation requires that the organizer work inside the system, among not only the middle class but the 40 per cent of American families – more than seventy million people – whose income range from $5,000 to $10,000 a year [in 1971]. They cannot be dismissed by labeling them blue collar or hard hat. They will not continue to be relatively passive and slightly challenging. If we fail to communicate with them, if we don’t encourage them to form alliances with us, they will move to the right. Maybe they will anyway, but let’s not let it happen by default.”

And this is the method of the first five weeks of the Obama administration’s madness of presiding over the largest stock market decline in the history of the United States.

For the last seven or eight years the left has constantly harangued the country and accused the Bush administration of using crisis as a pretext for an imagined fascist takeover. Many even outright claimed that Bush caused/planned/executed the 9/11 terrorist attack in order to become a dictator. But what we are witnessing today is nothing less than a revolutionary coup.

I, for one, agree with Rush Limbaugh in hoping, even praying, that Obama fails in this attempt to radically restructure the American political-economic system. The mess we are in has nothing to do with an imagined lack of utopian social justice.

The fact that Obama’s father was a socialist should remind us that socialism has rendered Africa a continent completely destitute and that as an example of what an ideology can do socialism is a danger to be avoided at all costs.

What, if any, of the ideals of the father does the son aspire to? Perhaps Dreams from my father would illuminate that question.

Well, Barak Obama has said explicitly that, “The Time Has Come for Universal Health Care” And specifically he’s said that, “Plans that tinker and halfway measures now belong to yesterday.” This certainly sounds like socialism to me.

Obama says that the government can modernize healthcare and make it cost less and in the process give you more quality care– what planet is he living on? Government has never been a vehicle for modernization or cost savings. Just look at the Senate restaurants and how efficiently they were run. All one needs to do is go to the DMV or any government office nationwide to see what kind of efficient service you receive from government.

Holiday girls held in orphanage after mother fell ill
A mother whose two teenage daughters were placed in an orphanage when she fell ill during a post-Christmas shopping trip to New York has been told she is under investigation because her children were taken into care. ~guardian.co.uk

Hillary, Obama, Edwards, et al, all think that the government can take better care of our children than we do. In fact we are all children in their eyes, aren’t we? Won’t it be great when we finally have universal healthcare and preschool?

The Socialist Party USA, no joke, has a tagline that is simply, “precious.” BTW, Socialism is an imperative, for the children!

Our aim is the creation of a new social order, a society in which the commanding value is the infinite preciousness of every woman, man and child. ~sp-usa.org

Isn’t this in the DNC platform too?

THE SOCIALIST PARTY strives to establish a radical democracy that places people’s lives under their own control – a non-racist, classless, feminist socialist society…where working people own and control the means of production and distribution through democratically-controlled public agencies; where full employment is realized for everyone who wants to work; where workers have the right to form unions freely, and to strike and engage in other forms of job actions; and where the production of society is used for the benefit of all humanity, not for the private profit of a few. ~sp-usa.org

Is there any difference between the Socialist Party of USA and the Democratic Party except in degree?

Will corporate greed be all we value as we move further into the global economy, or will we put workers and families first, so that all jobs pay fair wages, every American has health care and corporate profits work for democracy and not the other way around?

Will we face our future as individuals, each of us asking, “What’s in it for me?” Or will we return to the central value that makes our nation great? That we are all in this together and each of has a responsibility to the common good.

The choices we make will determine not just the quality of life our children will inherit, but the fate of the world we leave behind.

To succeed for our children where we have too often failed for ourselves, we must choose a new course. Those wedded to the policies of the 70s, 80s, or 90s are wedded to the past — ideas and policies that are tired, shop worn and obsolete. We will find no answers there. ~johnedwards.com

We must have the courage to choose a new course for the common good rather than individual greed and avarice.
